Kelly Buchanan
About
Kelly Buchanan is an Associate Attorney at the Day Law Practice. In the past she has handled litigation for victims of domestic violence and advocated on behalf of both children and parents in dependency cases. Kelly is a passionate advocate who believes in the dignity of every individual. She has experience representing clients from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. A proud Detroit native and a second-generation American, Kelly has a heart for the marginalized and forgotten. She has a proven track record of helping those in crisis situations from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Prince George’s County Maryland. Kelly feels most comfortable when she is solving difficult client issues with compassion and empathy.
During her years at Duquense University School of Law, Kelly served as editor of The Duquesne Environmental Law Journal, staff writer for Duquesne’s Business Law Journal, and contributing author for The Pennsylvania Family Lawyer. In the summer months, she interned for a judge on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania and clerked for an Allegheny County dependency court judge.
Prior to her pursuit of a legal career, Kelly obtained her MBA at Mississippi State University. This makes her uniquely adept at handling not only legal issues, but understanding the basics of capital markets, asset management, and actuarial methods. Kelly has also had the unique experience of living and working all over the country because she has been married to an Air Force pilot for 22 years. As a result, she can relate to people from a vast variety of cultures and understand the values they hold dear.
